1. Purpose of this policy
This Cancellation Policy explains how you can cancel a registration, a pending transaction or your account with Eight-Cap, and what happens to your funds and positions when you do. It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.
2. Cancelling a registration
If you have started an application but have not yet funded your account, you may cancel at any time by emailing us. We will close the application and handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, subject to any records we are legally required to keep.
3. Cancelling a deposit
Deposits are generally credited to your account as soon as they are received and cleared. If you wish to cancel a deposit that has not yet been credited, contact us immediately. Once a deposit has been credited, it cannot be cancelled, but you may request a withdrawal of the funds, subject to our verification procedures.
4. Cancelling a withdrawal request
You can cancel a pending withdrawal from your client area or by contacting support, provided the request has not already been processed and sent to your payment provider. Once processed, a withdrawal cannot be recalled.
5. Cancelling pending orders
Pending orders, such as limit and stop orders, can be modified or cancelled on the trading platform at any time before they are triggered. Once an order has been executed, it becomes an open position and cannot be cancelled; it can only be closed at the prevailing market price, which may result in a profit or loss.
6. Closing your account
You may request closure of your account at any time. Before closure:
- All open positions must be closed, either by you or by us at prevailing market prices.
- Any pending orders will be cancelled.
- Any amounts owed to us must be settled.
- Your remaining balance will be returned to you in line with our withdrawal policy, normally to the original funding source.
7. Refunds
Trading losses are not refundable. Refunds of deposits are processed as withdrawals and returned to the source of funds, less any third-party charges. Where a deposit was made by card, we may be required to refund to that card up to the deposited amount.
8. Cancellation by Eight-Cap
We may cancel transactions or close accounts where we are required to by law, where verification cannot be completed, where we detect prohibited activity, or where a trade was executed on a manifestly erroneous price. We will notify you where we are permitted to do so.
9. Processing times
Cancellation and closure requests are usually handled within one to three business days. Timelines for returning funds depend on your payment method and bank.
10. Contact
To make a cancellation request or ask a question about this policy, email support@eight-cap.io from the email address registered to your account.
